Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone.

That phrase kind of sets of a few alarm bells and sends shivers down your spine right? Or at least, feels a little bit uncomfortable at least.


Don’t worry, I’m with you on this one. Stepping out of my comfort zone, and doing something completely alien to me always feels a little awkward, and takes a real ‘come on, just get on with it’ talking to myself, around 5 minutes before I decide to ACTUALLY follow through with the whole ‘stepping out of the actual comfort zone’.


However, within the world of wellness, and the multitude of personal development books I have read, there is a continuous theme of trying something new, and for me, it’s time to investigate into why stepping out of your comfort zone is so important to your personal growth as a human.


‘Stepping out of your comfort zone’ is primarily taking a risk or seeing through an activity or an experience that isn’t ‘the norm’ or isn’t what you are used to, hence being ‘uncomfortable’. But how does this experience serve us as humans?


Firstly, let’s focus on ‘the comfort zone’. This is primarily the area where we feel most comfortable; we know what we are doing, we know what to expect and we know the outcome.
